Living in Seattle area, it is hard to imagine life without any rain for a month in the farming area during major pre-harvest season. However, it happened to Shidong in Guizhou Province and it is a disaster for the village. The drought lasts for a month--all the farm land cracked, the well is dry and there is no residential water supply.

Fortunately,  the drinking water project funded by CTEF and monitored by Warm 1+1 (for more information of the project, please visit our previous post at http://www.ctef.org/blog/post/2011/04/11/10-Years-10-Stories-%282%29-HAND-IN-HAND-TOGETHER-WE-BUILD-A-BETTER-TOMORROW.aspx) is functional and has been supplying clean spring water.  Not only the students in school,  but the residents in the area are all greatly benefited by this project during this harsh period. Everyday, there are so may people come for water.

We, volunteers at CTEF,  are all happy to see this pleasant unexpected outcome.
