We wish all of our donors, volunteers and friends a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks to your generous donations and support, CTEF sponsored over 20 school projects in 2009. And we have many exciting projects lined up for 2010. We look forward to working with you and helping hundreds of Chinese students in the new year!

Here are two pictures from our December board meeting.

CTEF’s 2008 Donation Statistics

CTEF’s Treasurer Elsa Tang and Volunteer Lily sent out all the 2008 tax receipts to our donors last week. Due to our limited resources and the sharp increase of donations in 2008, it took us longer this year. Our sincere apologies to all of our donors! Meanwhile, some donors made a contribution through their companies (such as Microsoft’s Giving Campaign). But CTEF didn’t receive their detailed contact information. Therefore we can’t mail the tax receipts to them. So if you made a donation in 2008 and you still haven’t received your tax receipt, please feel free to email donation@ctef.org.

Some preliminary statistics on our 2008 donations:

- 42% from PayPal, which shows the power of Internet!

- 58% from checks and cash (including company matches)

More interesting stats about our PayPal donations in 2008:

- 12 different countries, including US (97%), Canada, UK, Switzerland, Singapore, France, Australia, Spain, Brazil, Japan, India and Turkey.

- 39 states in the US, 58% from WA, 14% from CA and 5% from NY.

-  66% happened in May, right after the 5.12 earthquake in Sichuan, 20% in October (Microsoft Giving campaign).
