ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The CTEF 1+1 Youth Program is a sub-program of the 1+1 Student Sponsorship Program targeting at students and their parents. CTEF launched this program in May, 2011 after some high school students signed up to volunteer at CTEF. It is our desire to offer opportunities for students to grow their leadership while volunteering on a good cause in communities. Students will advocate CTEF 1+1 Youth program to their families, friends, schools and communities, recruit others to join them to help underprivileged kids in China. Student volunteers will be supported by their parents and CTEF volunteers so they will learn professional skills such as marketing, event management, project management, etc.
We hope, by volunteering at CTEF, students will learn how to turn ideas into actions and generate real results that impact many people’s lives. In the meantime, by communicating with the 1+1 program students in China, the volunteering students will learn the lives of other less-fortunate kids and their determination of achieving a better life through education. The kids in the US (or other countries) and in China will learn and grow up together through this program.
