Dennis Su(徐子敬), President
During thirty years of productive practice in architectural design in the Pacific Northwest, Dennis has been heavily involved with many community activities. Notable building projects include the Metro Central Operation Base, many housing and food service projects, military installations, and several award winning residences. He also offered pro bono work to many local charities using his professional experience.
He has been either president or board member of many community organizations since
the 80’s.He is a firm believer that merging his eastern background into the western
environment will enhance the understanding and harmony between the east and the
west.
One of his many hobbies is travel, which includes many parts of Asia, Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean. |

Waisiu Law (罗伟绍), Vice President
Waisiu was born and raised in Hong Kong. He co-founded CTEF in 2000 with Dennis Su. He was an analog IC design engineer in USA for 20+ years. He returned to China in 2004 and is now in charge of a mixed signal IC design house in Hangzhou. |

Michelle Zou , Vice President
Michelle Zou is a Product Manager at Microsoft Startup Business Group where she has been helping Microsoft building new products and businesses. Grown up in China, she has seen and experienced the differences that education can bring to people’s future. With a belief that moral support is as important as financial aid to those poor students, she started the RainEduc Program in 2007 to help poor students in China to continue their education and to grow up with a positive attitude towards life. To increase the impact of the RainEduc program to help more students in need, Michelle brought the program to CTEF in 2009 and turned it to today’s CTEF 1+1 Sponsorship Program. She is dedicated to continue grow and improve the 1+1 program. Michelle has many years’ experience in building and growing businesses. She has an MBA and a Master of Science in Finance. She had lived in Massachusetts for 7 years where she studied and worked before moved to Seattle in 2005. |

Weijuan Shi(施卫娟), CFO
Weijuan Shi is a Product Manager of Windows in Microsoft, holds an MBA degree and BS/MS in Computer Science. She was born and raised in a middle school teacher’s family in the countryside of Jiangsu Province, China. In her childhood, she witnessed and experienced the poor school situation in the neighborhood as well as the dedication from the teachers like her own father. Observations in her life later strengthened her passion to devote her best to bring a better education environment to the underprivileged people and give them hope. Since 2003 one year after she joined Microsoft, Weijuan has been a donor and volunteer of CTEF, and became a board member in 2006. She has managed CTEF’s volunteer recruiting, fund raising and marketing, and strategic planning and execution of the board. Since 2004, Weijuan has been the organizer of the annual Giving Campaign Drive in the Chinese Microsoft Employees (CHIME) Community while serving as CHIME Board Member and later Board Chair. Starting 2011, Weijuan became of the CFO of CTEF to streamline its accounting and financial operations, as well as CTEF’s overall strategic business development. |

Cathie Dai(戴琮中)
Cathie Dai is a Digital Marketing Manager at Microsoft. She was born at a wealthy city in Zhejiang Province, China. She has been working with various charities in the past, including Hope Project, and Loving Heart Association at Peking University. Her master thesis at University of Chicago is on NGOs and civil society. Cathie and her family have been donating to CTEF for years. In 2009, she was touched by a video that introduced poor students supported by CTEF and fell in love with this foundation ever since. She serves now as a CTEF board member on Marketing. |

Xin Ge (葛新)
Xin has been working in financial industry since 2000. She holds two master degrees, M.A. in Economics from NYU and M.S. in Computer Science from SUNY Stony Brook. Her undergraduate study majors in computer science and minors in Economics at Peking University. As a child, she was influenced by her father's dedication to help underprivileged college students in his college. Even though the family was in debt, he donated all his best-teaching rewards to qualified students. Xin is excited to learn about CTEF's work, inspired by all the dedicated volunteers and, glad to have the opportunity to work with CTEF. |

Lin Li (李琳), Board Member
Born and raised in a teacher’s family, Lin has passion for helping children, and believes in education. She has been a donor and volunteer for CTEF for over 4 years. Being a member of Microsoft MBD Giving Campaign VPAL leadership team, she has organized and participated in different MS Giving Campaign events for the past 2 years. Lin is a Software Engineer in Unified Communication Services in Microsoft. She has BS in Physics from Dong Hua University in Shanghai, and 2 Masters’ degrees from University of Iowa: Management Information System, and Accountancy. Outside of work, she likes sports such as ski, yoga, hiking and bicycle, enjoys food and dinning with good friends. Lin serves as co-chair of Marketing and Communications Committee, China Operation Coordinator, and Regional Director of Henan province. |

Mark Liu (刘岳)
Grown in a professor's family and inspired by grandmother and mother who loved to help the poor and students with financial difficulty, Mark Liu (刘岳)thinks it is a great pleasure to help some students to continue their study and hope the help can change their life. Mark also hopes through his volunteer work at CTEF more people become CTEF donors and more students can be helped. Mark has a Master of Science degree in Finance and a Master degree in Engineering Economy. He is a Senior Analytics Manager at Microsoft now. Before that, he worked for AT&T and several consulting firms. |

Yushi Shen(沈寓实)
Yushi Shen is currently a software design engineer in Window Media areas at Microsoft, Redmond, WA. He was born in Beijing, China. He obtained his B.S. degree at Tsinghua Univ., and M.S. and Ph.D. at Univ. of CA, San Diego (UCSD). He is currently the Chair of the Chinese Microsoft Employees (CHIME) Community inside Microsoft. Yushi has passion on improving Chinese education especially in rural areas. He has worked as volunteer in CTEF since 2009, and focused on CTEF evangelism and cooperation in Microsoft and especially in CHIME. |

Haonan Tan (谭浩南)
A software engineer at Microsoft, Haonan develops products and services for online advertising platform used by Windows Live. Before joining Microsoft, he spent more than 3 years making business logic middle tier software at Siebel Systems. His knowledge in software development and customer relationship management products enables him to effectively define and implement donor management process at CTEF. Haonan holds two master's degrees from University of Wisconsin-Madison, one in Statistics and the other in Computer Sciences. He also has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Fudan University in Shanghai, which is his hometown. |

Elsa Tang (黄淑仪), Treasurer
Elsa has been with the United State Postal Service since 1983. She had held various managerial positions in the organization. Currently she is an administrative Network Specialist in Operation Support. Ever since all her children received full college scholarships from the state public funding, Elsa is committed to contribute back to the community. The involvement with Kent-Yangzhou Sister Cities Committees had also leaded her to passionately devote her time in helping the poor children in China to acquire the basic education. Elsa graduated from Seattle University with major study in Business Administration and is certified to teach MBA Executive Leadership Program. |

Kai-Fu Lee
Dr. Kai-Fu Lee was a corporate vice president at Google, Inc. and President of Google Greater China. Joining Google in 2005 to start Google's operations in China, Dr. Lee was responsible for overseeing the Greater China operations. Prior to joining Google, Dr. Lee was a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft and was the founder of Microsoft Research Asia. Before that, he had held executive positions at Apple and Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI). Dr. Lee holds a doctorate in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where he developed the world's first speaker-independent continuous speech-recognition system. This system was selected as the "Most Important Innovation of 1988" by Business Week. Dr. Lee is also a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Vice Chairman of the Committee of 100, an elite group of Chinese Americans. |

Melissa Milburn
Media Relations Manager, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Melissa works for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where she manages media relations group for local, national, and international press for the foundation and its executives.Her background is in public relations, media relations, community relations, public affairs, and television news broadcasting. Prior to the Gates Foundation, Melissa spent six years as a consultant to private companies and organizations. Before starting her consulting practice, Melissa led the technology public relations team of APCO Worldwide, where she provided strategic counsel, corporate positioning, media training, crisis communications, and media relations for a wide range of public and privately-held clients. Before APCO, Melissa worked with Waggener Edstrom, one of the world's largest high technology public relations firms and Microsoft’s agency of record. Melissa's 12 years of television broadcasting experience includes anchoring, producing, reporting, writing, and editing for network affiliates representing ABC, NBC, and CBS. She holds a BA in Communications from the University of Washington, and a Certificate in Public Relations for post-graduate work. She has won numerous awards for her work, including two Emmy Awards from the N.A.T.A.S. and a Totem Award from the P.R.S.A. |

Ya-Qin Zhang Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Corporation Chairman, Microsoft ChinaCompany Ltd. Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang is Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation, Chairman of Microsoft China Company Ltd. Ya-Qin Zhang was the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft, responsible for product development of Microsoft’s Mobile and Embedded Division, including WinCE operating system, Smartphone, PocketPC, and other Windows Mobile platform and devices. Before then he was the Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia, Microsoft’s basic research arm in Asia-Pacific region. From 1994 to 1999. he was the Director of Multimedia Technology Laboratory at Sarnoff Corporation in Princeton, NJ (RCA Laboratories). He was with GTE (now Verizon) Corp. in Waltham, MA from 1989 to 1994. He has published over 300 refereed papers in leading international conferences and journals. He has been granted over 50 US patents in digital video, Internet, multimedia, wireless and satellite communications. Many of the technologies he and his team developed have become the basis for start-up ventures, commercial products, and international standards. He serves on the Board of Directors of five high-tech IT companies. Ya-Qin is a Fellow of IEEE. He served as the Editor-In-Chief for the IEEE Trans. on Video Technology and editorial boards of seven other professional journals and over a dozen conference committees. He has been a key contributor to the ISO/MPEG and ITU standardization efforts in digital video and multimedia. Ya-Qin received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1983 and 1985. He received his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, Washington D.C. in 1989. He had executive business training from Harvard University. |

Xiao, Xi
Ms. Xiao Xi received the Bachelor of Law degree (L.L.M.) from Zhongnan Political and Law College in 1993 and the Master of Law degree from Zhejiang University in 2006. She is currently a lawyer in Zhejiang Wulian Law Firm, P.R China. She also serves as Deputy Director of Labor and Social Security Professional Committee in Hangzhou Lawyer Association, P.R.China. Her specialties are Insurance Law, Company Law, and Labor Law in China. |
